Nuts and Bolts: A Look Under the Hood for a Sense of How it All Works

March 4, 2023 Posted by Dr Adam Fujita Uncategorized

A look in the kitchen.
A peak into the lab.
A walkthrough of the workshop.
A tour of the tech.

Here’s an overview of what the experience looks like,
Giving a sense of structure to your experience and what you gain when working with me.
And giving a sense of possibility, that allows us to tackle some unique aspects of you that depend on what you bring to the table and what you may be looking for.

While the experience is tailored to each individual, there is an overlying framework that holds it all together.

You will learn how the body generates power and movement.
You will learn how the body creates stability and control.

You will learn about specific energy leaks where power is lost, movement is wasted, stability is compromised, and control is lacking.

You will learn how those concepts are found within you and your movement profile.

You will learn key activities to address the foundational change that best meets your needs at that moment – meaning that what you address on your next appointment is different from and builds off of the changes you created from the previous appointment.

Our work is heading somewhere.

You then learn how to incorporate these concepts within your training routine,
And
How to progress or modify based off of what a particular moment needs.

We look at corrective exercise (neuro-motor-programming to make it sound far too fancy),
Muscle tone, tension, or length,
Joint mobility,
Form, technique, and mid-run modifications (as needed),
And
The clinical decision-making process for how to integrate these concepts and tools into your routine.

We build central stability,
Hip power, and mobility,
Form efficiency and agility.

Packaged in such a way that it is learnable, retainable, and repeatable on your own.
Packaged in such a way to create independence from the healthcare system.

For those whose journeys take us beyond the physical,
To our core motivations and fundamental understandings of who we are, where we belong, and what we are to do on the wonderful earth-

We explore concepts of our True-self, persona, belonging, tribes, business, gifts to share, work to do, and the return back to what we have been searching for the whole time.

Sound vague? The depths and details of this portion of the journey can vary greatly person to person, leaving it open to possibility.

Where does this all come from?

Nearly 15 years worth of clinical experience and post-doctoral education in tenets from The Postural Restoration Institute, The Gray Institute, Vladimir Janda, Kaltenborn, Harvey Penick, etc.

A career going on 15 years worth of marathons and ultramarathons, covering 26.2 miles, 50 miles, 100 kilometers, 100 miles, and more; taking clinical principles out into the real world to build a sustainable career and the ability to cover high milage without injury or missing a race.

Over a decade of learning and practicing matters of flow, breath, and consciousness per Nestor, Csikszentmihaly, Miller, Kotler, etc.

Leadership development work since 2012 that covers executive coaching training, training and research regarding Spiral Dynamics and the evolution of human consciousness (Don Beck, Clare Graves, etc), training and research regarding our True-Self and gifts of the Enneagram (Rohr, Hudson, Cron, Plotkin, etc), and concepts of society, relationship, and corporations (Beck, Graves, Godin, Sinek, etc).

The combination of all of these aspects into the care I provide highlight the fact that they aren’t really separate from each other in the first place – very contrary to how we have been used to participating with healthcare.
