Variations in Our Values

April 4, 2023 Posted by Dr Adam Fujita Uncategorized

Value, values.

We all have them –

That which holds importance, worth, or usefulness.
And they vary from person to person.
And we all desire quality values.

We can value

Service,
Time,
Results,
Money,
Investments.

Though most of us can share in holding each of those values,

How we hold them,
How we view them
Varies.

Service

Some value the service of someone else getting the job done for them.

Others desire a service that teaches, trains, and enables them to get the job done on their own.

Time

Some value time as space between events, to enjoy the transition, a commute, down-time, where they can scroll and take a breather.

Others value the richness of the moments, where they can actively participate and progress, capitalizing on the fullness they can create within their given time each day; not wanting to lose time on commutes, appointments and delays in paperwork to be granted permission to receive care. Nor are they interested in policy that limits the amount of time they are given to work on their health.

Results

Some find value in being taken to a finish line that means pain-free activity – and that they are done with the journey. The end goal has the specific joint, muscle, solely in its sights – reductive vision to eliminate the problem.

Others find value in the restoration of pain-free living, the ability to build resilient changes, and that this the actual beginning of building resiliency and generating more possibilities than just one finish line. Integration is the guiding light, focusing on the expansive nature addressing the physical, mental, and soulful nature of each person.

Some value a service that can regain the results when lost.

Others value tools that keep and protect their results.

Money

Some honor their money by using the insurance coverage they pay into monthly and with their deductibles and copays, participating in traditional care.

Others value the further reach of their cash, knowing the higher cost, effort, and discipline yields a higher level of care, freedom of care, lasting changes insurance and traditional care can not afford to provide with their restrictions.

Investments

Some invest to stay in the boundaries of a system; given the appearance of safe and trust in a the size of the machine to take care of you.

Others look to invest outside of those parameters in order to yield results of resiliency, lasting changes, the ability to care for yourself, and expansive results that clinic care can not always provide.

Thankfully, there are options that meet meet our needs, desires, and goals –
None of which are inherently better than any other.

Ultimately, we are after congruency between our values and our efforts.
